Economic growth speeds up as consumer confidence falls

Ireland is booming, we are nearing full employment - yet consumer confidence is in decline. In today’s Sunday Business Post/Red C poll, we discover a ‘sit up and take notice’ moment for the government

The reality is that consumer confidence has been in decline for some time since the highs recorded earlier in the year. The Red C consumer mood tracker saw its first drop in June after several years of growth. That drop was further compounded in October.
