DUP’s Wilson says Varadkar’s ‘no-deal deal’ comments mean no need for Brexit backstop

The DUP’s Brexit spokesman seized on the recent remarks by Leo Varadkar where he said “if we did end up with a no-deal situation, we would find ourselves having to negotiate a ‘no-deal deal’ quite soon thereafter”.

DUP MP Sammy Wilson has said the Taoiseach’s comments that there will have to be a “no-deal deal” in the event that Britain crashes out of the EU next year means there is no need for a backstop in the Brexit agreement.
