Former minister for European affairs Lucinda Creighton has said Ireland needs to reposition itself within the debate over the future of Europe as a result of Brexit, and also welcomed the decision that the government will have a free vote on abortion.

In a wide-ranging interview, Creighton said that the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, should now make a keynote speech on his vision for the EU as part of a new positioning of Ireland. ...
