Citizens’ Information Board returned €8m in surplus funds held in breach of state rules

The Citizens’ Information Board (CIB) had to return almost €8 million which had been withheld in breach of government rules on state funding.

The CIB has a budget of around €50 million to fund a network of citizens information centres, as well as the Money, Advice and Budgeting Service (Mabs) and the Abhaile mortgage resolution service.
