There’s money in the kitty, but the government faces turbulence in the run-up to the election

When the coalition took office back in March 2011, it proclaimed that the Dáil would have a summer recess of “just six weeks” to help make it “fit for purpose”. But that was then. This week, TDs will be returning after a nine-week Dáil break.
