Budget office warns public sector pay bill could jump by €1.1 billion

The Oireachtas budget office has warned Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe that the annual public sector pay bill could spiral by €1.1 billion.

It comes at a time when nurses are pushing for pay rises and when teachers are demanding the end of longer salary scales for new entrants.
