Bruton wants to up employer payments to colleges
Expert report calls for extra €150 million for cash-strapped third level sector
Minister for Education Richard Bruton is to offer a “cash for courses” deal to get employers to pay more to third-level colleges.
An expert report into third-level funding has suggested bringing in an extra €150 million from employers to the cash-strapped third level sector. This would increase the existing national training fund levy paid by employers from 0.7 per cent to 1 per cent.
