Of 176,000 accidental landlords registered with the PRTB in Ireland, 20,000 are overseas. As an emigrant in Britain I feel infuriated I have received a tax bill from the Revenue Commissioners for a property which I purchased in rural Ireland as my home, at the peak of the property market.
I thought my future lay in Ireland, but that was not true. The economy had different ideas for people like me.
