Bank Inquiry Week 6: Inquiry to get names of AIB staff who warned ESRI

The names of AIB employees who approached the ESRI with concerns over the bank’s exposure to property lending are to be passed to the banking inquiry, The Sunday Business Post understands.

Former ESRI research professor John FitzGerald told the inquiry last week that two junior staff members in AIB approached him in late 2005 and asked him to use predictive modelling software to simulate the effects of a collapse in property prices.
