Last Monday morning, a visibly sick Martin McGuinness left his hospital bed in Derry. Worryingly pale, his voice weak and having lost a noticeable amount of weight, he travelled 75 miles to Belfast with one thing in mind – to resign as the North’s deputy first minister.
