Honda has won the contract to provide 48 new 750X motorbikes for military escorts of honour

The Defence Forces has spent almost €500,000 on 48 new motorbikes that will be used solely in “escorts of honour” for ceremonial occasions.

The new purchases will replace the army’s ageing fleet of 46 Honda Deauville 700cc motorbikes that were purchased in 2008.

A tender was issued in June of this year before being awarded to Honda which will now provide 48 750X bikes at a cost of €380,000. Once Vat is included, ...
