Bertie Ahern yet to respond to request from FF to rejoin

Former taoiseach Bertie Ahern has failed to respond to a request to rejoin Fianna Fáil four months after it was issued.

Ahern was invited to rejoin the party by the Dublin Central constituency organisation last November in what proved a controversial move.

Ahern quit the party in 2012 following the findings of the Mahon Tribunal which were likely to result in his expulsion.
