‘There is a lot to be said for the caress of weak government” is the conclusion of Financial Times columnist Janan Ganesh. It is such an unusual proposition that it deserves examination. Could it be that our traditional wish for strong and disciplined government is misplaced? And could more weak government here be good for us?
