SBP Editorial: Varadkar should reverse Whelan appointment

Maire Whelan, a barrister who has served as attorney general for the past six years, was last week nominated to the state’s second highest court, the Court of Appeal. The Department of Justice said the Judicial Appointments Advisory Board (JAAB) had not recommended anybody for the post. Whelan is a member of the board.
