Unionism wanders down a cul-de-sac
Unionist politicians don’t seem to know what’s good for them, nor the importance of making the Assembly work
Driving across the North these days is a revelation. Everywhere the dividends of the Peace Process are visible in a thousand little signs: the new shopping centres, the busy traffic-filled towns, the obvious de-militarisation. Police officers can walk the streets, but the thousands of hand-searchers outside the shops, as well as the circling Land Rovers and Saracens have disappeared.
Everywhere, a whole new generation is growing up who have only ever known peace. ...
