There may have been a task force and there may have been recommendations, but the HSE has still managed to drive up the number of patients on trolleys in emergency departments around the country

Are we getting sicker as a nation? Are we rushing to hospital with pathetic ailments? Are we desperate to try the trolley experience? Has half the HSE itself gone on sick leave? If none of these, then why oh why oh why does the INMO’s Trolley Watch count for each month just read "worst ever recorded"! And don’t forget, trolleys include chairs; those who are less well get to sit and wait, rather than lie and wait – just to get a bed in a hospital when they are seriously ill.
