Boring. Low-key. Turnout falling. Who could have imagined only a few years ago these words being used to describe an election in the North, in the land where once – in electoral legend - the dead voted in huge numbers and the living early and often?
Thirty-five years later, on the anniversary of the death of Bobby Sands, the Northern polls had a quieter day than any in their long and bitter history.
