Trinity College Dublin brought this environmental policy to the forefront of Irish public consciousness this month with the announcement that it was offloading €6 million from its endowment fund. Trinity will no longer hold shares in the ExxonMobil and BP oil companies on the ethical grounds that these fossil fuels-based companies have a disproportionate impact on climate change.
