At the grand old age of 92, there's no excuse to carry on feeding the monster
This week, as every year at this time, the whole country discusses the Leaving Cert weather and smiles and recalls their own ‘close encounter’ of the most terrible kind. Hundreds of teachers and parents tell school leavers that they are now ‘standing on a threshold’ as if these words signify a great moment in their lives when the casting off of their school uniform and the end of the dreaded exams will actually lift them to some higher place where all is clear and the sun is shining.
