SBP editorial: Why the state should not sell AIB... for now

Bernard Byrne, the chief executive of AIB, told the Oireachtas Finance Committee last week that investors are enthused about Ireland at the moment and the bank’s stock is performing well. As such, the banker said that now would be a good time for the government to sell its interest in AIB should it wish to do so. He explained: “These things come and go.
