Standing up in INM: The equivalent of war

The revelations at Independent News & Media will be stunning to many, but they did not happen overnight

Last week, Peter Feeney, the Press Ombudsman, was in condoling mode. He expressed not merely “deep ” but “deep, deep concern at the alleged data breach at INM”. The company is now under investigation for this and other matters, including the aborted purchase of Newstalk.

Clearly feeling what he thought must be their pain, Feeney said that “senior editorial management at INM must feel seriously let down”.
