Sinn Féin’s Right to a Home Bill was defeated in the Dáil last week.

Sponsored by Eoin Ó Broin TD, the bill sought to insert into the Constitution “a right to adequate, appropriate, secure, safe and, crucially, affordable housing.” The bill would give effect to the eighth report of the Constitutional Convention of March 2014, which was endorsed by 84 per cent of the citizen participants.
