Political correctness went mad last week. On Sunday, the seasonal classic pop song Baby, It’s Cold Outside fell foul of the new censoriousness and found itself dropped from radio playlists worldwide. On Monday, it was revealed that the HSE had banned staff from referring to patients as “dear” and “love”. On Monday night, the host of the Ballon d’Or football awards jokingly asked the winner of the women’s award if she could twerk, provoking a furious global outcry.
