It has taken a while, but slowly and surely the political establishment in Dublin has come to recognise what this column has been saying for a year now - that all the talk about a soft Brexit is no more than sophistry. I don’t know about Carlsberg, but when did the EU ever do soft territorial borders? Just ask the thousands waiting for hours this weekend in Schengen area passport queues.
