A couple of weeks ago, after the new ministerial appointments were announced, which included the reinstalling of Heather Humphreys as arts minister, I received a Facebook private message from a friend who works as a producer in Irish theatre. “Great news about the new arts minister,” he messaged sardonically, attaching a picture to the text. What was the picture? A woman screaming in a horror film, her face a rictus of pain and shock.
