Charity might begin at home, but it has been conspicuously absent from our office in recent days as a small but telling amount of money goes missing from the tuck shop

We have just had an office scandal. Someone (or, more probably, several someones) has left the charity box of sweet treats €16 short. This unfortunate situation probably reflects an essential truth about Irish society – we’re just not all that honest.
