Italy’s move to embrace China’s Belt and Road initiative is another sign that the old global economic order is changing rapidly

Earlier this month, Italy became the first G7 country to formally endorse China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Italy’s endorsement of the BRI may turn out to be a seminal moment in economic history; European countries are now looking east, rather than west, for investment and foreign direct investment (FDI).
