Government policy has made sure the only players in the rental sector not getting screwed are the state and foreign investors
We have a problem in the rental sector.
The issue is that almost nobody can come out of it a winner – except for the state.
It would be one thing if tenants had rights that screwed landlords, or vice versa. That might possibly be resolved. But through short-sighted policy, ill-thought out taxation and a lack of will to truly get building, we have managed to shaft everybody in equal measures.
