No return to Celtic Tiger pay levels in public sector

There is a falsehood at the heart of the current debate on public sector pay that has to be called out.

Public sector unions have repeatedly called for pay cuts to be reversed so that pay goes back to pre-recession levels in 2008.

But those were Celtic Tiger era salaries which turned out to be funded by tax revenues from an unsustainable property boom.
