The deadline for students to accept the college courses they have been offered is 5.15pm tomorrow.
But the changes made this year in how Leaving Cert grades were awarded have introduced an unnecessary level of unfairness into the points system.
There are few things in modern Ireland that can be considered to be absolutely fair, transparent and accountable, but the way our state exams are conducted comes very close to meeting that exalted description.
