Co-operation with Britain on trade and the North is too important to jeopardise with undiplomatic comments – however idiotically our neighbours behave

We have difficult neighbours, on that we can agree. The willingness of so many British politicians to ignore European realities is matched by their unwillingness to face facts in Ireland.
