Ireland's second-tier cities need to grow faster

Ireland is a bit odd in terms of the distribution of its population. Our urban hierarchy is odd not because Dublin is so big, but because our other cities are so small

It sometimes surprises some economists, but the economy is composed mostly of people. These people are born, they work, they live and they die. When they come of working age, most people do their working and living quite close to where they grew up.
