'In Budget 2018 the emphasis once again needs to be on services, reducing the cost of living and preparing the economy for Brexit'

Bearing in mind the many people left untouched by the economic recovery, Fianna Fáil campaigned in last year’s general election to make Ireland a fairer place in which to live and work. Fine Gael by contrast ran a campaign that promised US-style tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of vital public services.
