As yet another member of the Dunlop family perishes in a motorcycle road race, it’s time to look at society’s complicity in an unacceptably dangerous sport

Watching yet another tragic Dunlop family funeral on the news, I was taken back to a moment more than half a century ago. It was so vivid and compelling that I can still recall it. It was the moment that, as a young child, I first had the astonishing and terrifying experience of being present at motor cycle road racing.
