Criticism of EMC is absurd

Recently in an Irish Times podcast with Pat Rabbitte, the commentator Fintan O’Toole referred to the Economic Management Council (EMC) as a threat to cabinet government. The Reform Alliance has tabled a Dáil motion on the EMC as a usurper of cabinet and the Dáil.

These charges are absurd and no repetition of them makes them any less absurd. It is a case of rhetoric running way ahead of reality.
