When it comes to the housing crisis, Minister Coveney has a better option available

Simon Coveney has made his latest big announcement. He has offered 700 publicly owned sites for private developers to build mixed tenure housing estates.

He claims this will deliver 50,000 new homes, increase the supply of social and affordable housing and avoid the problems he believes are associated with large single tenure council estates.
