Donald Trump averted a nasty Irish/American row when he told reporters in Shannon that he didn’t know about President Michael D Higgins’s condemnation of his “regressive and pernicious decision” to pull out of the Paris climate change agreement.
That morning, a headline in the Irish Daily Mirror - ‘President v President’ - summed up keen media interest in a potential row that, in Shannon at least, turned out to be a non-event....
