Severe climate change could prompt a political lurch to the right and an isolationist strategy, but Ireland is better off fighting to save the planet

By 2050, large swathes of our planet could become ‘The Uninhabitable Earth’, as the title of the recent book by David Wallace-Wells, which I cited here last week, has it. But even on this devastated planet, there will be places that remain very inhabitable. And one of them is likely to be this small island.
