So deep isthe chaos at the heart of the British government that news of a successful project which has far-reaching consequences for the UK - and the world – has been completely buried. This week, the five-year old UK 100,000 Genome Project finally reached its massive target of mapping 100,000 genomes. And, remarkably, the project is on time, on budget and surprisingly perhaps, was managed by the oft-maligned NHS, collaborating with Genomics England.
