On Monday, ASTI members will, without any sense of self-awareness, strike outside secondary schools with ‘Equal Pay for Equal Work’ placards.

No such noble republican aspiration of equality has ever existed within the teaching profession. A teacher’s salary is defined by increments, otherwise known to the common man as seniority payments.
