What Apollo House solves – and what it doesn’t

The conversion of an office block into a shelter has created a useful focus, but the homelessness crisis is so much more

There is a tension running through all of the commentary (including mine) on Apollo House and street-sleeping.

Apollo House may act as a catalyst for a greater public engagement with the under-lying issues - but it may also be a soporific, allowing a release of anger and activist energy at Christmas, followed by a relapse into our customary indifference soon after.
