Banna Strand, Kerry, site of the commemorations on Thursday, may be the place that has traditionally felt the greatest connection to Roger Casement. But that feeling was not reciprocated.

The place to which Casement felt greatest connection was another small strip of coastline, 300 miles away at the opposite end of the country: Murlough Bay, on the north Antrim coast.
