Things have improved significantly for AIB.

The bank’s scandals went on for long enough. In fact they stretch back now over 30 years. But unlike our two most disgraced banking institutions – Irish Nationwide and Anglo Irish Bank – which exist no longer, AIB is still standing, cleansed of past wrongdoing, in intensive care for the past seven years, nationalised, and as its interim statement recently indicated, now substantially rebooted and turned around.
