The fast food chain is based in Columbus, Ohio and is best-known for its square hamburgers.

Wendy’s, the American fast food chain, has announced plans to expand into Ireland as it looks to grow its European presence.

The hamburger chain, which was founded in the United States in 1969, has more than 7,000 restaurants worldwide, including 25 in the UK.

The company said today it is actively seeking well-established franchisee candidates in Ireland that have strong operations experience, local expertise, and a track record of growing brands here.
