VC investment in Northern Ireland jumps to all-time high with rise in overseas backers

Venture capital investment in Northern Irish firms reached an all-time high in 2022, with £139 million injected in growth-stage companies headquartered in the jurisdiction.

New figures from Catalyst, the Belfast-based non-profit that works with companies in the north, show the value of transactions is up 27 per cent compared to 2021, when £107 million was invested in NI-based firms, and is more than triple the £44.3 million figure for 2019.
