US companies criticise government over work permit scheme delays

US multinationals have chided the government over delays to a key work permit scheme which has been overwhelmed by high volumes of applications, records obtained by The Sunday Business Post show.
The records show that the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), which represents 700 US companies in Ireland, raised “current delays in processing and how this impacts client companies” during a meeting with the Department of Business Enterprise and Innovation.
