University of Limerick expansion to create 3,500 jobs

Construction on a €2 billion university town, which is expected to create 3,500 jobs in Co Clare, will begin in 2021.

Clare County Council plans to apply to Eoghan Murphy, the Minister for Housing and Planning, to designate the area, which is in the hinterland of the University of Limerick, as a strategic development zone in January.
