A united Ireland would result in thousands of public sector job losses in the North, according to the economist whose study on the economic benefits of unification has frequently been cited by Sinn Féin.

Dr Kurt Hübner, who led a team of academics studying the economic impacts of unification, found that it could benefit the island’s economy to the tune of €35.6 billion over eight years.
