Unions flagged noise issues at new Health office in 2016

Unions representing senior public servants warned that noise in the open-plan layout of the new Department of Health building would impact their ability to carry out duties, including writing responses to parliamentary questions.

In a letter to health minister Simon Harris in October 2016, the Association of High Civil and Public Servants said there was a weight of evidence around “noise distraction and work impairment” in the open-plan offices that would affect employees. ...
