U2 guitarist Dave Evans, better known as The Edge, used a number of Delaware-based companies in order to legally reduce his tax bill when constructing five “eco-friendly” homes on a hill-top expanse of land in the Californian town of Malibu.

Evans has been embroiled in an expensive 12-year fight with environmental activists to secure planning permission to build the series of mansions in California on a vast tract of land.
